Work Injury Therapy

Work injuries occur in every type of environment and can range from traumatic to overuse/repetitive use injuries. At Riata Therapy Specialists, we believe that our patients who are injured at work deserve the same treatment as any other patient and consider them our “industrial athletes”.

Our services for our work-injured patients include:

Physical therapy services – including traditional therapy modalities, splinting and bracing, wound care, and manual therapy.

Functional capacity evaluations – comprehensive, whole body testing including work simulation activities to assess a patient’s return to work capacity (ordered by a physician).

Fit for duty testing – comprehensive, whole body testing of a client to determine his/her ability to perform a job he/she has been hired to perform, or to determine return to work status after an injury (requested by a person’s employer).

Work conditioning – a daily program designed to strengthen a person and enable them to return to work safely. Work conditioning includes strengthening and stretching as well as job simulation activities.

Job site evaluation/ergonomic assessments - Darin L Deaton, PT, MS, OCS, CAE is a Certified Associate Ergonomist, trained to perform ergonomic assessments of job sites of all types and provide a detailed report containing recommendations for safety and efficiency. See the Oxford Research Institute site for more information and a listing of CAEs: http://www.oxfordresearch.org/purpose.htm

We also serve our industrial clients by providing educational information to supervisors and employees regarding safety, ergonomics, and body mechanics. In addition, our staff participates in several employers’ local health fairs, as well as providing on-site education for safety and prevention of injury.
