Riata Therapy Specialists is one of the few facilities in the DFW area that has APTA Board Certified clinical specialists in the area of Orthopaedics and Neurologic Physical Therapy, and thus be considered a specialty practice. Out of 66,000 Physical Therapists who are members of the APTA, fewer than 8,000 were board certified specialists as of 2007. Specialty Board Certification of a physical therapist is the highest level of training endorsed by the APTA. Specialty certification in the world of physical therapy is similar to other fields of practice and allows the patient access to the highest level of training available within that area.
